Bernardo Sada-Paz is an associate attorney at Murrah & Killough, where his practice focuses on commercial real estate, finance, business transactions, and related corporate matters. He brings to the firm nearly twenty years of combined legal, real estate, and commercial banking experience, allowing him to approach client matters with both legal insight and practical business judgment.
Before joining Murrah & Killough in 2025, Bernardo operated his own solo practice in Laredo, Texas, representing individuals, landowners, and businesses in real estate transactions, commercial disputes, and contract matters. From 2020 to 2024, he served in the legal department at Killam Development, where he negotiated and drafted commercial leases, purchase and sale agreements, energy contracts, construction contracts, and other transactional documents. In that role, he also advised on corporate compliance, business operations, land development issues, and managed litigation affecting the company’s real estate portfolio.
Bernardo’s prior private-practice experience includes representing mineral owners, developers, and commercial clients in oil and gas litigation, land title disputes, royalty and lease-termination claims, and other complex commercial matters. Earlier in his career, he practiced litigation in Houston, advocating for clients in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts. His legal background also includes internships with the U.S. District Court and U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.
Before entering the legal profession, Bernardo spent more than a decade in commercial banking with Frost Bank, Lone Star National Bank, and BBVA Compass Bank. He managed multimillion-dollar loan and deposit portfolios, advised clients across a range of industries, and helped launch new market initiatives. This experience gives him a strong foundation in financial analysis, deal structure, and the practical considerations that drive business and real estate decisions.
Bernardo is licensed to practice in Texas. A native Spanish speaker and conversational in French, he is also an avid basketball, soccer, and football fan.
