What is the Paycheck Protection Program?
The federal government has allocated funds through The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (“CARES”) Act to assist businesses in keeping workers employed during the pandemic and economic downturn. Known as the Paycheck Protection Program (“PPP”), the act authorizes up to $349 billion in 100% federally-guaranteed loans to small businesses who maintain their payroll during the COVID-19 crisis.
