Biography

Read Hammond is Of Counsel to Murrah & Killough and the Co-Owner, President and CEO of
Sage Title Company, which offers a full range of commercial real estate, title, and closing
services and serves as an agent for four major title insurance underwriters. A real estate attorney
with over two decades of experience, Read focuses his law practice on commercial real estate in
the areas of acquisition, disposition, development, and financing. Read’s expertise in title adds
key support to the firm’s real estate matters. He is a trusted advisor to a wide variety of clients
engaged in real estate transactions, including buyers and sellers, investors, developers, and
lenders. In his role at Sage Title Company, Read serves as Commercial Underwriting Counsel
and is a Licensed Escrow Officer.

Prior to founding Sage Title Company and joining Murrah & Killough, Read served in leadership
roles at three national title insurance companies and as an attorney with Jones Walker, LLP.

Read and his wife Laina, who co-owns Sage Title Company and serves as the company’s Chief
Operating Officer and General Counsel, are the proud parents of five grown children.
